Co-Head of Drama - Nine Network

As co-Head of Drama for the Nine Network since 2011, Andy oversees the development, commissioning and production of the network’s Australian drama output.

Working across adult drama, comedy and children’s drama on the network’s linear and digital services, Andy commissions around 70 hours of scripted content each year.

Recent commissions include the Logie-winning series Doctor Doctor, Love Child and House Husbands; comedy series Here Come the Habibs; and the mini-series House of Bond and Underbelly Files: Chopper. The new crime series Bite Club will premiere in 2018.

For SVOD platform STAN, Andy was also Executive Producer for the STAN original drama series Wolf Creek and No Activity.

Other commissions include: the mini-series HOWZAT! Kerry Packer’s War, Gallipoli, House of Hancock, Fat Tony & Co, Power Games: The Packer-Murdoch Story, Underbelly: Squizzy, Underbelly Badness; and telemovies Schapelle, The Great Mint Swindle and Beaconsfield. Ryan has also commissioned over 200 hours of children’s drama including: Dogstar, Dennis & Gnasher, The Day My Butt Went Psycho, Buzz Bumble, Skinner Boys and Pirate Express

Andy’s has a Master of Arts degree from AFTRS and began his television career as script editor and writer on All Saints and story editor on Home and Away, before becoming script producer on the international hit McLeod’s Daughters.

Andy joined Nine as Network Script Executive in 2006, where he oversaw the development and production of multiple award-winning productions including Underbelly, Sea Patrol and Rescue: Special Ops.
