OUR STORY
MERCURY CX discovers, nurtures and promotes authentic and diverse voices, grows capability fosters collaborations, enables entrepreneurship and forges pathways to audience.
MCX SCREENMAKERS is singularly the most important national event for diverse, emerging practitioners to gain their first foothold into the professional screen industry of the future. It is also the key opportunity for producers, commissioners, funders, marketplace and potential employers to connect with and begin tracking exciting new creative talent, diverse voices and fresh, original content.
Established in 1974 as the Media Resource Centre, today Mercury CX is transforming into a not-for-profit organisation of the future, dedicated to championing the growth and success of screen talent and stories in partnership with industry and the marketplace.
Screenmakers Conference started in 2016 elevating storytelling through creative and business opportunities across film, television, streaming and digital media and now launching in 2022 VFX, Animation and Games.
MCX Screenmakers is uniquely future-facing, wholly focused on enabling talent, building careers and cultivating creativity in a converged environment that spans multiple delivery platforms. We break down silos and foster connections to give Australian creative talent the edge in the globally competitive future.
The next Screenmakers will take place 28 – 30 July 2022 at Mercury Cinema, Adelaide and simultaneously online, with an online Pitch Day to follow on 26 August 2022.
