Karla Hart is an award-winning filmmaker, actress, radio personality and was Perth’s NAIDOC Artist of the Year in 2009 and 2017.

Karla’s producing, writing and directing credits include documentary series Family Rules series 1, 2 and 3 currently in production (NITV), On Country Kitchen series 1 and 2 (NITV), Nyoongar Footy Magic (NITV), Shame (ABCME), Is Sharing Caring (ABC), Angela’s Rules (NITV) and Magic Quandong (ABC) and she also produced and directed short documentary films for NITV – Army Man Coming and Healing Songs and for FTI – Rev Sealin Garlett, Goreng People, Alf Taylor and Rev Cedric Jacobs.

Karla also has an extensive background in radio as an actress and playwright. Also as a Noongar cultural dancer and choreographer, singer and speaker, MC, workshop facilitator for dance, Noongar language and performance. As well as major event management with Wardarnji Festival for the City of Fremantle for last 8 years plus NAIDOC, seasonal festivals and events across Perth.

Karla studied Aboriginal Theatre at WAAPA and has a BA in Contemporary Arts majoring in Performing Arts from Edith Cowan University.
