Daphne Paris entered the industry in the early 80’s at the Tasmanian Film Corporation as a production assistant. Driven by a passion for film and story, Daphne trained on the job as a Script Supervisor and moved to Sydney where she collaborated with George Miller and his team on the writing workshops and supervised continuity ground break series The Dismissal.
Daphne worked as a Script Supervisor on numerous Australian film and television productions including Mad Max – Beyond Thunderdome, Crocodile Dundee, Dirtwater Dynasty, Vietnam, The Year my Voice Broke, High Tide, Flirting and Muriel’s Wedding.
In the 1990s Daphne worked as an Associate Producer on Lorenzo’s Oil and an Unit Director on Babe, Babe II – Pig in the City and on the TV series Heartbreak High before joining the writing team on the SBS series Going Home.
As Production Executive and Head of Production at AFTRS, Daphne has taught production process subjects, overseen and mentored students in over 700 productions across all award courses and has instigated a robust educational program on the regulatory framework governing production. In 2012, she was a finalist in the Comcare Work Health and Safety Awards for Best Individual Contribution to Health and Safety.Back to Who's Coming
