Following the success of last year’s competition, the Media Resource Centre and ABC iview have partnered up once again to bring Pitch-o-rama back to the Screen Makers Conference in 2019.

“We’re thrilled to have Pitch-o-rama returning to the Screen Makers Conference again this year,” Media Resource Centre Director Gail Kovatseff said.

“Last year’s Pitch-o-rama debut was a great success. It provided a platform for up-and-coming screen makers to pitch their projects, and the winners are now receiving assistance to help progress their concepts,” she said.

The competition is hoping to uncover the next big web series, offering up $10,000 in concept development funding and invaluable assistance from an experienced ABC TV commissioning team to the winner.

Shortlisted applicants will get the opportunity on Friday 26th July to pitch a short-form scripted or factual concept to some of the industry’s most prominent creative executives in front of a live audience – with just 3 precious minutes to impress.

Pitches will be judged on the strength of concept, creative presentation and the response of the audience, but former ABC iview Manager Sally O’Donoghue believes it’s a beneficial experience for all, regardless of the outcome.

“We applaud the courage of emerging creators in pitching their short-form series ideas before a live audience,” she said.

“Above all, it’s a fun and exciting event for everyone involved,” Ms O’Donoghue said.

So, take your chances and get those entries in! But be quick – submissions close 5.30pm (ACST) Friday 5th July 2019.
