Elise McCredie is a multi award winning director and screenwriter. She has been nominated for 5 Australian Writers’ Guild Awards (winning twice). She has written 2 seasons of the Emmy winning ABC series, Nowhere Boys. Elise is writer and co-creator of the AACTA winning best mini-series, Sunshine (2017), and Jack Irish (2018) both for Easy Tiger Productions. She has also written Secret City (Matchbox). Elise is the writer, co-creator and show runner of Stateless (Matchbox) which she executive produced with Cate Blanchett and Tony Ayres. Elise is currently working with Big Talk productions UK and Margot Robbie’s company Lucky Chap on new TV projects.
Elise’s first feature Strange Fits of Passion (writer/director) was selected for the Cannes Film Festival. It received 3 AFI nominations, an if nomination, an AWGIE nomination and was nominated for the Bronze Horse at The Stockholm Film Festival. Elise’s second feature, Ride Like a Girl (co-written with Andrew Knight and directed by Rachel Griffiths) was nominated for an AWGIE for best feature screenplay and an AACTA for best film. Ride Like A Girl was the top grossing Australian film of 2019. Elise is currently writing her third feature The Boat Builder (the story of the Sydney Opera House) for Nordic Production Company, SF Studios and Marion Macgowan Films.Back to Who's Coming
