Nick Murray – CJZ

Nick has a unique and very broad background in TV – as an indie producer and formerly as network executive in cable and free-to-air.
Nick started his media career in radio as a producer and announcer at 5UV Radio Adelaide. He studied law at Adelaide University and worked in the Entertainment Law practice at Finlaysons before moving to Ten in Sydney.
He is Managing Director and co-founder of CJZ, the biggest locally owned production company in Australasia which produces more than 20 primetime series every year. It’s shows have won Logies, AACTAs, the Rose d’Or for both Go Back to Where You Came From and Gruen as well as an Emmy for Go Back….
Nick’s past experience includes: General Manager (and sometime producer) at Artist Services (now ITV Studios Australia) and founding CEO of cable TV network the Comedy Channel. He set up his own indie production company Jigsaw Entertainment in 1999 which morphed into CJZ.
Nick is a former President of the Screen Producers Association of Australia and looks after the fish tank at the CJZ Sydney office.
His most recent productions are narrative comedy Mr Black, the one hour drama series My Life is Murder and the upcoming new season of Gruen.
